A day at the Zoo!

One of the outings our daddy wanted to do with us while he was on vacation was the zoo! Great Aunt Julie has also been wanting to do the zoo with us so we decided we'd work that out. Because the zoo can be kind of hilly we decided we better invite Grammy and Boppa to help out with us, so Mommy could navigate the zoo with her wheelchair without a toddler on her lap at all times!  Friday afternoon after we had a good lunch we got ready and headed north to Seattle for an afternoon at the Woodland Park Zoo! We had a great time romping the zoo and seeing the animals!

Some of our favorite animals were elephants, zebras, lions, hippos and monkeys. Ethan's favorite was the birds! He loved seeing the owl but most of all he loved the falcon at the bird show! He wanted to climb right over and touch it! Ethan also liked the "pig".  He had a hard time with the word Warthog! Melissa was nose to nose with the otter in his burrow which she really enjoyed! We went back to look at him a 2nd time but he had left for another spot in his habitat. She was a little disappointed. Melissa also enjoyed seeing the "'raffe" (giraffe).  Katelynn enjoyed the monkeys but she kept calling all of them Gorilla! Unfortunately we didn't see any real Gorillas to help her compare! She also liked the fish in the otter area!  Our least favorite animal was the Komodo Dragon! He was a little bit scary for us this time!

We spent just over 3 hours at the zoo and saw just about everything there was to see there! We had a great time wearing our dog backpacks around and got a lot of compliments on them and how well they work to keep us from escaping too far! It was a fun day for all of us!
