Easter 2013: Memorable

Holy week began just as we had planned. Mommy went to Holy Thursday with Grammy and Boppa while Grandma Pitkin watched us.  Mommy and Daddy felt it would be better if we didn't disrupt our usual schedule and also we were on RSV season "house arrest". That means we can't go many places often unless we have an appointment or just need a little time out of the house. On Friday afternoon Mommy made the decision to stay home from Good Friday service because she was getting extremely tired and she still didn't want to take us out.  The plan was to take us to Easter Sunday Mass to celebrate being off of FLU/RSV lockdown. On Saturday Daddy woke up early and told Mommy he wasn't feeling to well, but he still felt well enough to go to Portland for our Easter Eggstravaganza, so off we went!

It was so much fun that day in Portland. We had good food and lots of fun.  The Easter Bunny visited the house and left us great toys and candy for Mommy and Daddy. After we got to play with the things in our Easter baskets we headed outside for another special event! Our very first Easter Egg hunt! What a fun time that was! We loved finding eggs and putting them in our baskets! We also loved dumping them out and "finding" them again. Or "finding" the eggs in someone elses basket and putting them in our own! What a great time! The sun was out which made our afternoon even better!

The next morning, Easter Sunday, Mommy woke up early and wasn't feeling well! Turns out that Daddy and Mommy BOTH had the flu! This began our spring break flu party.  By the end of Mommy's vacation, we all had the flu.  Good thing that's over now! Since we didn't get to go to church on Easter we decided since it was still Easter season, we would extend our celebration to the following weekend!

The weekend after Easter Mommy and Daddy got us up early on Sunday and dressed us in our Easter Sunday best.  They packed us in the car with all our church toys and food and off to Mass we went! We were so good for Mommy and Daddy and Grammy and Boppa! We sang and danced and played quietly with our books and toys.  After church we got to go to Grammy and Boppa's house for a yummy breakfast and another fun Easter Egg Hunt!

We loved Easter! Thank you Jesus for dying and rising for us! Jesus is Risen, HE is Risen indeed!
