"Water" outside of the womb is also important. Babies need fluid to survive. They take in mothers milk or formula to survive, live and grow. Our babies also relied on modern medications which contained "fluid", in order to survive during the first months of life. Without fluid to sustain their lives they could not grow and develop. While this fluid is vital to their very being outside the womb, there is something else that water does outside the womb that is also vital to our very life.
When a child is born, the parents have a responsibility to take care of that child and nurture their very life. One of the ways we as Christian Catholic parents nurture our children is to foster their life of faith. We give them the very foundation on which they are to build their relationship with God. When we has Christian Catholic parents, along with each child's God parents, agree to raise our children as such, we bring them to the "waters of life". This water is significant to their survival as Christian Catholic children. At the "waters of life" they are given a new life, in Christ! Water once again is vital to their life!
October 9th, 2011 was a special day for the trio. Once all 3 of our children were home from the Neonatal intensive Care Unit, we approached our church and asked on behalf of our children, for the Sacrament of Baptism. Below is a little "snapshot" of their special day. This was a day where 3 very special miracles were welcomed to the people of God.
Today, a year later, we are proud to celebrate their lives as Christian Catholics. Three lives formed by God, blessed by God and cleansed at the "waters of life". It is our hope as Christian mother and father, that we give our children the foundation in their faith and the courage to stand for their belief in this faith, supported by their Christian family.
We thank you all for praying for us, being examples for us and helping us raise our children strongly in the Faith of the Church!
