Change...

During the recent weeks we have posted about the opening of the brand new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University of Washington Medical Center, the beginning of a new hope for families of premature and sick babies.  Well, this weekend they will be moving the babies to the new space and leaving the old space behind.  This will be a big change for everyone in the NICU! Change isn't easy and it comes with a lot of different emotions. Change, however, is necessary and it helps us to grow! In light of this event, it is time to go forward, time for us to grow a little! It is time for the graduates of the old space to leave their legacy.  We aren't going to ever forget the NICU journey, as it is etched in our souls forever. However, we are going to leave the NICU journey in the past.  We will still periodically share stories of our experience, we will offer hope for future families and we will continue to reflect on the journey thus far.  Each Friday, instead of a flashback, we would like to have a "feature".  It might be featuring one of the trio, a milestone they have reached, a triumph we'd like to share, a prayer we need or maybe a project we are working on! We will continue to have the babies "write" the blog! We hope you will enjoy!

This week we'd like to share a little project we did!

 It all started a few months ago, when Mommy and Daddy took us out shopping! We were walking through the mall when Mommy spotted a really neat picture frame! The frame had spots for a lot of pictures! Mommy and Daddy decided they should buy this frame to put up some pictures in the house.  They had talked for awhile about how they didn't have many pictures of us up in the house and they really wanted to share some of the work our photographer friend has done!.  We bought the frame and brought it home.  For a few weeks the frame has sat empty in our living room, waiting.  Mommy has been busy with work and taking care of us and hasn't had much time to work on extra projects. 

Finally, tonight Mommy got some free time and she got to work on filling the frame! This frame is filled with pictures from our past year and it truly speaks to leaving the past and growing! The pictures you see, span a time frame of one year! Our photographer friend began taking pictures of us in September of last year and recently took pictures of us in September of this year.  We will be celebrating 1 official year of pictures coming up, but this frame encompasses a year of memories outside the NICU! It has been a year of growth, a year of change and a year full of first memories for the trio!
